After obtaining a degree from the University of Guyana, Faudia emigrated from South America to the United States at the age of 17 and made her home in the New York metropolitan area. Upon her arrival, Faudia continued her higher education by attending State University of New York at Stony Brook and New York University, seeking her medical degree at the latter. During this time, she was employed at Hackensack University Medical Center in New Jersey conducting stem cell research and as a research chemist at Cornell University Hospital.
With the little spare time she was afforded, Faudia worked part-time as a model, walking the famed runways during New York Fashion Week multiple years and being crowned Mrs. New York International 2016 having a platform in awareness and support for autism, breast cancer research, charities for homeless children and childhood cancer research.
Coupling her studies in medicine and science together with her passion for beauty and fashion, Faudia saw a career in health and beauty, with an emphasis on hair and skincare, as a natural progression.
As a result, Faudia recently obtained her laser medicine and esthetic/therapeutic certifications, culminating with her becoming the owner of Laser & SkinCare MedSpa of Westchester.
Aside from Faudia’s nearly 2 decades of educational and professional pursuits, she is married with 2 adorable boys and regularly visits local hospitals to continue her various causes.
